Five Basic Types of Aviation Insurance
Aviation insurance normally covers physical damage to the aircraft and legal liability arising out of its ownership and operation. A typical aircraft liability policy includes bodily injury liability (excluding passenger liability), passenger liability and property damage liability with limits usually applied in the same manner as in automobile liability policies.
Public Liability Insurance expand_more
This cover protects third parties people and property on the ground against legal liability arising out of the ownership and operation of the aircraft, excluding passenger liability, which is arranged separately.
Passenger Liability Insurance expand_more
Covers the aircraft owner's legal liability for bodily injury to, or death of, passengers being carried for the purpose of the flight one of the core limbs of a typical aircraft liability policy.
Ground Risk Hull Insurance (Not in Motion) expand_more
Protects the aircraft itself against physical damage while it is parked, parked in a hangar, or otherwise stationary covering perils such as fire, theft, vandalism and weather damage when the aircraft is not taxiing or in flight.
Ground Risk Hull Insurance (In Motion) expand_more
Extends hull protection to the aircraft while taxiing and during ground movement on the airport apron, taxiways and runways the higher-risk phase between parking and take-off.
In-flight Insurance expand_more
The broadest hull cover: physical damage to the aircraft while in flight, insuring the airframe and engines against the perils of flight for high-value assets, commercial fleets and private operations alike.
